Hot take: I finally get why 'The Room' is a masterpiece

I was at a bad movie night in Austin last month and everyone was laughing at the awkward scenes. But when Johnny says 'You're tearing me apart, Lisa!' for the third time, I felt it... that raw, messy emotion most films polish away. Anyone else have a movie everyone mocks that you secretly connect with?

Watched "Cats" and felt a weird kinship with that sad, lonely cat in the alley.

Pretty sure that's Grizabella, and she's not just in an alley. She's on the main stage trying to get back in.

Oh man, @the_pat is totally right about that. It's funny how we remember things wrong, but the feeling stays the same. I see this all the time, people feeling like they're on the outside looking in, even when they're right in the middle of things. That song hits hard because everyone's been the one begging for a second chance at some point.
