Can we talk about how I watched Freddy Got Fingered 12 times in one summer and it's honestly a masterpiece
Everyone I know puts Freddy Got Fingered on their worst movies ever list, and I get why. But I rented it from a Blockbuster in Tacoma in 2003 and ended up watching it 12 times before I had to return it, because I kept showing it to friends just to see their faces. Tom Green sausages a moose and swings a baby by its umbilical cord, and yeah it's gross, but nobody else on earth got a studio to pay for something that hostile. Every joke is designed to make you uncomfortable on purpose, and once you stop waiting for a normal comedy, it's weirdly hypnotic. Drew Barrymore showing up at the end with a rocket truck makes zero sense, which is exactly the point. Has anyone else come around on this one, or am I alone in thinking the gross-out stuff is doing something smart?
