Unpopular opinion: my boss's "helpful" feedback is just him redoing my work
Last Tuesday he made me rewrite a client email I already edited twice, then sent it with one comma moved. Maybe it's just me, but isn't that worse than actually fixing something real? Has anyone else had a manager who critiques just to prove they're paying attention?

The comma thing hits home. I had a supervisor who would mark up my reports and change half of it back the next week. Turns out he just wanted to feel involved. I started asking him specific questions before I finished, like "should I lead with the main point or the background here?" That gave him something real to chew on and the pointless rewrites basically stopped.
