I tracked every task my supervisor dumped on me for 2 weeks, and the total was 34
Two weeks ago I started writing down every single thing my supervisor handed off to me, just to see if I was crazy about the workload. In 10 work days I logged 34 tasks that were supposed to be his job, everything from scheduling his meetings to fixing his printer in the Houston office. My own job is data entry and I fell behind on my actual tickets by 19 because I was doing his stuff all day. When I showed him the list he laughed and said that is just how the team works. I went to HR with the notebook and they said they would look into it, which I am pretty sure means nothing. Has anyone actually gotten a boss to take their own work back, or did you just find a new job?
Sounds like a normal team where the boss hands stuff down and people just deal with it. Making a whole notebook and running to HR over scheduling meetings seems like a good way to get labeled the problem. Honestly if the tickets are slipping maybe the real move is just finding a new job instead of trying to change how the place runs.
