Serious question, I started clocking out 10 minutes late on purpose at my warehouse job in Fresno and somehow got promoted
I figured padding my hours by a hair made me look busy, and 4 months later my lead put me up for the shift supervisor spot, so now I'm wondering if anyone else stumbled into a promotion by doing something kinda sneaky.

Man that's wild but I get it. I used to stay like 15 minutes late just to finish one more thing and my old manager thought I was grinding. Meanwhile the people who actually did extra work got nothing. It's like half the time they just promote whoever they notice, not whoever deserves it. Kinda messed up when you think about it but hey, you played the game and it worked. Just don't let it turn you into the boss who only looks at who's still there at 6pm.
