Ran a full wire sweep on the same King Air after 3 weeks of cleaning up grounds
I do avionics on a King Air 200 that belongs to a small charter outfit out of Boise. Back in February I pulled every connector in the aft fuselage and cleaned up the grounds, because the owner kept complaining about intermittent com 2 static. I logged about 60 terminations, some of them looked green inside the pins. Just last Friday I ran the same wire sweep I ran before the cleanup, same tester, same length of harness. Noise on the VHF line dropped from 12 millivolts to under 2. I did not change a single box or antenna, just re-pinned and dressed the bundles with proper standoffs. The owner has not called about static once since. My lead wants me to do the same sweep on the other two planes in the fleet. Anybody got a shortcut for documenting before and after readings so the paperwork does not eat my whole shift?
