Torque wrench on oil filters changed my whole game last month
Used to just crank oil filters by hand until they stopped turning, then give em that extra grunt. Got tired of dealing with leaks and the occasional filter that seized up worse than a rusted caliper bolt. Picked up a cheap beam style torque wrench at Harbor Freight for like 18 bucks and started torquing to spec, 18 ft lbs on most cars. First time I did it on a 2015 Civic, zero drips after 500 miles. Has anyone else switched to torqueing filters, or do yall still trust the hand method?
