Tried a new clear coat from a shop in Tacoma and it went totally wrong

They swore by this 'fast flash' clear for quick repairs, so I sprayed a fender with it. The stuff clouded up like crazy after 20 minutes, even in a controlled booth. Learned the hard way that a fast dry time can mess with the finish if the temp isn't perfect. Anyone know a good clear for small jobs that doesn't haze?

Oh man, that's the worst. I saw a whole thread on a body shop forum where guys were tearing apart those "fast flash" clears. The general take was they're way too picky with humidity, not just temp. For small stuff, I keep hearing good things about the regular old "slow and steady" clears from the big brands, even if it means waiting a bit longer to handle the part. That milky haze is just the clear drying before the solvents can get out properly.

Ugh, been there! I had a clear go milky on a door once, same fast-dry junk.

50 bucks a quart for that fast flash stuff and it still hazes? @the_pat I swear that stuff is cursed, I've seen three guys post the same cloudy mess on different forums. The slow clears from PPG or even the house brands are way safer, you just gotta let it tack up longer. Humidity is the real killer with those fast dry formulas, not just temp.
