Took me 4 hours to find a crushed drain hose behind a bumper cover
Swapped a rear bumper on a '19 Civic and the customer's taillight kept fogging up. Chased electrical gremlins and leaks for hours before I spotted the drain tube was pinched flat between the bracket and the bumper. Anyone else get blind-sided by something that simple?

Disagree completely. You spent 4 hours on a crushed drain hose. That means you skipped the obvious check. First thing I do on any taillight fogging issue is look behind the bumper for pinched lines. It's like rule number one for water leaks on modern cars. You got blindsided because you went chasing electrical problems and leaks without checking the simple mechanical stuff first. Next time save 3 hours and look at the drain path before you pull out the multimeter. That's just basic troubleshooting.

Oh man I feel your pain. Had a similar thing on an older Ford Focus where the sunroof drain tube got pinched behind the headliner. Spent like three hours pulling trim panels and chasing a water leak that just dripped down the A pillar every time it rained. Finally found it when I pulled the whole headliner down and saw the tube was flat as a pancake from the factory. Sometimes the simplest stuff makes you feel like an idiot for missing it.
