I thought the $8 phone tripod pics of the eclipse would be junk, then I stacked 40 of them
Everyone in my local astronomy club said phone shots of the eclipse were a waste of time. I almost skipped it. But I rigged my phone to an $8 tripod and just held the shutter for two minutes straight. Got 40 shots with no tracking at all. Stacked the best 12 in a free app called DeepSkyStacker and the corona actually showed up. Not sharp like the big scopes, but you can see streamers. Anyone else shooting a phone at 200mm eq or am I the only one cheating?
