Showed up to a Tempe mixer with 40 cards and forgot how to talk to people
Went to a networking mixer at a hotel near Mill Ave in Tempe about 3 weeks ago, paid $25 at the door, and printed 40 business cards the morning of at FedEx. Problem was I got there and my brain just froze, I stood by the cheese table for like 20 minutes pretending to text so I looked busy. Finally a guy in a golf shirt asked what I do and I gave him my whole life story in one breath, which was way too much. Ended up handing out two cards all night and one of them was to the bartender. Has this happened to anyone else or do you just push through the first awkward 10 minutes?
