My 'prehistoric tool' was actually a potato masher.

Got way too excited during a field survey in my backyard. Turns out it was just my grandma's old kitchen gadget buried years ago. Still counts as historical, right?

Read how things from our past look strange buried, causing mix-ups.

Wow, and I thought my old toys were just trash.

So what made you first think it was a real artifact... was it the shape or just the excitement of digging something up? Things from our own past can look mighty strange after years underground... gives them a weird kind of importance. Your find might not be stone age, but it's a piece of your family's history now.
