I finally stopped pulling the whole fridge out to check the defrost drain, and I blamed the heater for 3 years
A guy at the parts counter in Amarillo asked if I was checking the drain before the heater, and I realized I never once did that on a Whirlpool. Now I want to know, how many of you test the drain first or do you still go straight for the heater?
Going straight to the easy thing can bite you. I've watched guys swap the same part three times because they never checked the wiring, and the real problem was a bad ground the whole time. Spend ten minutes testing instead of guessing and you usually save yourself a weekend.
