I was at a con in Atlanta and saw how people talk about shows now

I was at Anime Weekend Atlanta last fall, just hanging near the food court. I overheard two people having a full, deep talk about the sound design in a show I liked. They weren't just saying 'it's good,' they were pointing out specific scenes, like how the lack of music in a quiet moment made it hit harder. It made me realize my own chats about anime were pretty surface level, just saying if I liked it or not. I went home and rewatched that show, paying real attention to the sounds and the quiet parts. Now when I talk about a show with friends, I try to pick out one specific thing that worked, like how a scene was framed or a voice actor's choice. It makes the whole talk way better. Has anyone else had a moment that made you change how you discuss the shows you watch?

You think @king.stella would find it more fun if they tried it once?

Ever think you had to be a critic to talk like that? I used to just say if stuff was good or bad, but noticing little details makes it way more fun.

Honestly, overthinking every little detail just sucks the fun out of watching a movie for me.
