PSA: The new wireless sensor protocol from SecureTech took me 4 hours to pair with a 10-year-old panel.

Everyone says it's plug and play, but the legacy firmware needed a manual reset sequence I found buried in a 2012 PDF from their old support site, so has anyone else hit this with older systems?

Tell me about it, sounds exactly like my Monday. They call it plug and play but really mean plug and pray it works. Of course the fix is in some ancient PDF they don't even host anymore. Classic move to make the new stuff only talk to the old gear if you perform a secret handshake. Makes you wonder if the engineers who wrote the old manual even still work there.

That 2012 PDF was the official spec.
