Did a door contact test this morning and found out my backup battery was dead for 6 months

Yo that is actually kinda wild. I bet your system never even chirped to let you know, right? Most people don't realize those backup batteries can die silently like that and you just assume everything's fine. Now I'm paranoid about my own setup gonna go check it tonight haha.

Pull the battery tabs and shake test em every few months, that's what I do. Found two dead ones in my setup last year that looked fine til I actually gave em a little jiggle lol.

Nah I mean mine chirps plenty, even when the batteries are fine.
