That Wednesday where three planes went tech in four hours straight
I was working a night shift at SEA two weeks ago and it felt like every A320 out of gate C5 had a different issue, from a stuck bleed valve to a cracked windshield we had to quick-change. Didn't even get a proper break until 4 AM because the third plane came in with a faulty IDG that I'd bet money was just a loose connector (of course, it wasn't). Has anyone else had a stretch like that where maintenance control just kept sending more birds your way?}

Man, that's one of those things where you start feeling like the universe is testing you on purpose. It's the same way I see it with my crew on a job site when every single tool decides to break or the paint starts peeling on three different walls in the same morning - sometimes everything just lines up wrong at once. You can plan and prep all you want, but there's always gonna be those stretches that hit you like a freight train and leave you wondering what you did to deserve it.

Oh, come on, is anyone else gonna push back on this? I mean, three planes in four hours sounds rough, but that’s literally the job. You signed up for maintenance at a major hub like SEA, what did you expect, a quiet night of Netflix? If every A320 needs a quick fix, that’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. I’d argue those stretches are the ones that separate the real mechanics from the ones who can’t handle the heat. Plus, think about it - if every plane went tech back-to-back, you gotta wonder if the issue is more about how the airline schedules maintenance or if it’s just a string of bad luck (which happens, you know). Yeah, it sucks to miss a break, but that’s the trade-off for working in a busy airport.
