My morning routine used to take 15 minutes. Now it's an hour and I hate it.
I used to just roll out of bed, brush my teeth, and be out the door in 15 minutes flat. Then I turned 30 and suddenly my skin got all dry and I had to start doing this whole moisturizer and sunscreen thing... plus my back started hurting so now I have to stretch for 10 minutes before I can even stand up straight. It feels like every year adds another mandatory step I can't skip or I'll pay for it later. How do you guys find the energy for all this upkeep without just giving up and showing up to work looking like a mess?

Honestly, are we sure it's the age or just that we got lazy about paying attention? I used to skip sunscreen all the time too until I realized my morning routine wasn't actually longer, I was just standing there scrolling my phone for 45 minutes. Maybe try timing yourself with a stopwatch for a week. Bet you'll find the moisturizer and stretching takes maybe 10 minutes total and the rest is just you staring at the mirror wondering where your youth went.

Felt that in my bones, man. Hit 30 and suddenly my morning routine started looking like a pre-flight checklist for a spaceship. I've got the moisturizer, the sunscreen, the weird foam roller for my back, and half the time I'm just staring at myself in the mirror wondering when I became this person who needs a spreadsheet just to leave the house. The other day I forgot the sunscreen and spent the whole shift paranoid my face was gonna peel off. Maybe we're all just slowly turning into one of those cars that needs a 20-minute warmup before it'll even start.
