Finally figured out my bathroom fan was running backwards for two years

So I moved into this apartment in 2022 and the bathroom always stayed humid after showers. Took me way too long to realize the fan was sucking air from the roof instead of the room. I was like 18 months in when a buddy pointed it out. Swapped two wires and now it actually works. Has anyone else dealt with a fan that just never seemed to do anything?

Used to think fans just sucked at their job but yeah this makes way more sense lol.

Used to have a window AC that did the same thing. Swapped the wires and it worked perfect.
