Dropped $1,800 on a 'quick' roof patch in the Heights that lasted one monsoon season
So back in April I noticed a small water stain on my ceiling near the swamp cooler and figured it was no big deal. Called one of those guys who leaves flyers on your door in the Heights and he quoted me $1,800 for a patch job, said it would take a day. He did some tar stuff around the flashing and told me it was good for 5 years, no paperwork, cash only. Fast forward to last month's storms and the stain came back twice as big, plus now there's a soft spot in the drywall. Got a real roofer out and he said the guy just smeared mastic over wet wood and it trapped moisture, whole section needs replacing for $3,400. Has anyone had luck going after these flyer guys or is that money just gone?
