Finally bit the bullet on a new water heater
Spent about $1200 on a new one after the old one started leaking. The install was rough but having hot water again is worth it. Anyone have a good plumber for future stuff?

Yeah the "one big home repair" line is so true. Mine went last winter and it was a nightmare, water everywhere in the basement. That price sounds about right, I paid a little more for the quick install because I was desperate. Definitely keep that plumber's number handy, you'll need it for something else soon enough.

My neighborhood Facebook group gets a new post about a water heater every two weeks. It's the one big home repair that hits everyone eventually. You're just joining the club.

@henry604 you must be the unofficial water heater historian of that group then huh. How many posts have you actually counted before you realized it was every two weeks?
