The day I almost gave up on the Galleria finally turned things around
I spent three Saturdays at the old Galleria in Albany trying to get decent photos of the sunken fountain area, but every time the security guard showed up within 10 minutes. Last month I went at 6 a.m. on a Tuesday and got 45 minutes of clear access before anyone came. The key was a local urbex guy who told me their patrol schedule was posted on a janitor's clipboard by the loading dock. He showed me the gap in the fence near the old Sears entrance, and I finally got the shot of the koi pond murals that are still intact. Has anyone else found that timing beats gear when it comes to these places?
