Set my phone to record inside the dead Sears at Westgate and got something I can't explain
Back in 2019 I started bringing a cheap voice recorder into malls I explore, mostly to catch my own notes about store layouts and dates. At the old Westgate Mall in Spartanburg the Sears had been dark for 6 years, and I set the recorder on a jewelry counter with no glass left, just to log how long I walked the aisles. When I played it back there were 11 minutes of my footsteps, then about 40 seconds of a steady hum that sounds a lot like a floor buffer. I went back twice with a friend and we got total silence both trips, same time of day. Part of me thinks the hvac kicked on and part of me doesn't. Has anyone else caught weird audio in a dead anchor store, or am I just hearing things?
