I thought urban exploring was all trespassing nonsense, then a security guard in Cleveland changed my mind
Honestly I used to roll my eyes at the whole abandoned mall thing. Figured it was just kids breaking windows and taking blurry photos for clout. Then last April I was at the old Randall Park Mall in Cleveland with my camera and an actual security guard walked up, and instead of yelling he just said 'stay out of the east wing, the roof is soft.' We talked for like 20 minutes and he told me the owner actually lets photographers in on weekdays if you sign a paper and stay with a guide. I filled out the form that Friday and walked the whole place legal, with lights on, no climbing through a broken window. Now I keep a printout of that waiver in my bag for spots that have a live contact number. Anybody else found a spot where the owner was way more chill than you expected?
