Had to choose between the food court stairs or the escalator at an abandoned mall in Ohio
The escalator was totally dark and creaking, so I picked the stairs and ended up sliding down a pile of old dropped ceiling tiles halfway down. Anyone else ever take the wrong route in a dead mall and regret it instantly?

I slid down an escalator handrail once in the old Randall Park Mall.

Why would anyone even try a dark escalator in an abandoned mall? That thing could have seized up halfway and turned you into a pretzel. The dropped ceiling tile slide sounds like the safer bet honestly, at least you knew the floor was solid under all that mess.

My cousin tried riding one down in an old JC Penney and it stopped cold with him stuck halfway.
